Abstract. COVID-19 gave universities and colleges no choice. They had to switch to digital teaching and introduce home-based exams as a substitute for ordinary school exams. At the same time, the ambitions were to maintain the student's learning outcomes and ensure the exam grade measured the students' knowledge and skills. With data from a Norwegian business school, this paper will analyse if home based exams provide other results than traditional school exams with closed books. The chosen method is to compare achievements before and during the pandemic and link the performance to academic skills in other subjects and from upper secondary school. The results suggest that the measurement of grades changed under COVID-19. This applies to the quantitatively oriented subjects and the non-quantitative oriented subjects. This is useful knowledge since students' grades are used for ranking for further studies and professional careers

Abstract. There is a lot written about hospitality, mostly in the context of gastronomy and hotel services. During the last years, we see that the concept of hospitality has made its entrance into a wider spectrum of different sectors and businesses, such as facility management in big companies, care and education. In this scoping review we focus on hospitality in education. The review is divided in three parts. In the first part, we go back in time and give an overview of different philosophical perspectives and interpretations of hospitality during the years. Secondly, we focus on the different dimensions and implementation of the concept of hospitality. The third part describes the trends and hospitality in the context of education and what this could mean for the relationship between teachers and pupils/students, the care for pupils and the school environment.

Abstract. With some degree of regularity, Norwegian authorities revise the curricula across all subjects within primary and lower secondary education, including social studies. In 2019, the most recent revision of this subject was adopted. It was labelled SAF01-04, and came into effect in August 2020. This article aims to identify areas where SAF01-04 implicitly encourages pupils to take specific normative positions in contested political-ideological questions. The article concludes that the implicit political-ideological content in SAF01-04 is moderately politically left-leaning and that pupils are expected to adopt moderately left-leaning positions. The article concludes that the ideological leanings of SAF01-04 are surprising given that the government behind SAF01-04 was centre-right.

Abstract. The professional development of teachers has been an interesting area for educational researchers. The educational transformation initiated in South Africa since 1994 due to the new democratic dispensation necessitated a process of reskilling the entire South African teaching corp. For schools to achieve their goals of effective teaching and improve learning, professional development should be at the top of the pedagogical agenda. Drawing from teacher professional development theory, the study explored how the Council for Educators' point system policy functions and whether the policy promotes teacher professional development. For the researcher to explore and understand the views of participants, a qualitative approach, which was analytic, descriptive and interpretive, was deployed. Data was collected through the use of semi-structured interviews. The findings of the study show that there is a discrepancy between what the policy aspires to do and the teachers' praxis. In addition, the findings conclude that in the main, most teachers in this study demonstrate inadequate comprehension despite the fact that the policy has been in operation for five years. Based on these findings, it can confidently be argued that the policy does not enhance teacher professional development.

Abstract. This article aims at exploring to what extent the readiness of the HRM agencies at Central and East Java Province in implementing the current talent management policy. This research uses exploitative- qualitative methods through interviews with regional staffing agencies senior officials to discuss policy understanding, institutional capacity, and regional head support in implementing talent management. The results showed that stakeholders' knowledge of talent management policy is sufficient with the implementation plan in line with the established policy. Furthermore, the talent management implementation is more dominant using a strategic-system method than micro- individualistic at the stage of selecting employees, with talent criteria consisting of potential, performance, competence, ethics-integrity, and the provision of competency development programs adjusted to the needs of talents. This research also showed that with the institutional capacity of different human resources managers in both provinces, Central Java Province is relatively more ready to implement talent management than East Java Province. However, the most formidable challenge of the implementation in both regions is to get the support of regional heads so that the process of implementing talent management can run effectively without transactional political intervention.

Abstract. The problems that arise in increasing the productivity of SMEs are limited access to formal financial institutions, production technology, human resource capacity, raw materials, and marketing. In addition, SMEs that dominate business units in Indonesia are generally managed informally, with a low level of management education, and labor skills that are not yet optimal. This affects the ability of SMEs to increase business productivity. In general, actors with lower business scales are less likely to innovate, and some of them are even unable to innovate independently. Strengthening innovation for SMEs will support the achievement of inclusive growth by reducing the productivity gap between SMEs and other larger-scale businesses. Increased innovation in SMEs can be optimized by taking advantage of the increasingly accelerated development of the digital economy and finance during the new normal. By utilizing digitalization on SMEs, it will improve performance and result in an increase in the country's economy.

Abstract. The study examined the effect of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) on the value relevance of accounting information in the Nigerian Stock Market (NSE). The purpose was to determine the effect of Earnings per Share (EPS), Book Value of Equity (BVE), and Dividend per Share (DPS) on stock prices in the pre and post-periods of IFRS. Ex post facto research design was used. The population consisted of 180 firms quoted on the NSE. Purposive sampling was used in selecting 48 companies as the sample size. The study covered a period of 10 years from 2007 to 2016. The period was divided equally into 5 years (2007-2011) pre-IFRS and 5 years (2012-2016) post-IFRS periods. Secondary data were used which were obtained from the annual audited reports and accounts of the sampled firms. Multiple Regression Analysis was used in testing the formulated hypotheses with the aid of E-View 9.0. Findings revealed that the effect of EPS, BVE, and DPS on stock price in the pre and post-periods of IFRS is not statistically significant. Based on the findings, the researchers recommended that the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) of Nigeria should strictly monitor the level of IFRS compliance by Nigerian Companies and ensure full compliance by these companies as well as sanction defaulting companies as this will help to fully achieve the benefits of full IFRS implementation which will result in more relevant accounting information. Nigerian companies should comply with the standards to produce high-quality financial statements which are value relevant.

Abstract. Voter apathy is a subdivision of political apathy and has become one of the foremost democracy quandaries especially in developing polities. Participation in politics is an important part of decision making in a democratic setting. Therefore, when voters do not come out to participate in voting, it dsefinitely impacts negatively on the electoral process and sometimes undermines the outcome of an election. It may mean that the majority who did not vote indirectly empowered the minority who voted to make decision on their behalf. This paper argues that the increasing manifestation of voter apathy in the last two decades of Nigeria's democracy leads to a poor democratization process and governance failures in the Nigerian project. It has promoted a condition in which individuals still remain more powerful than institutions. The paper employed documentary methods for data collection, while anchoring its discourses on the decision making theory as theoretical framework. The paper concludes that if the increasing level of voter apathy is not controlled in the country, it will continue to constitute a challenge to democratic consolidation in Nigeria. It recommends among other considerations that the Electoral Management Body (EMB) needs to critically inspire citizens through massive enlightenment and must restore trust and confidence in the electoral process by ensuring that people's verdicts are not thwarted by any means.

Abstract. Childhood became a popular subject in many contemporary films, especially after the 1960s. In this presentation, we are interested in the representation of childhood in films directed by women, from the perspective of the narrative construction, while also considering the form in which the stories are developed with young female characters in the centre. We will discuss two films from different countries: Estiu 1993 (Summer, 1993, 2017), by Clara Simón and Systemsprenger (System crasher, 2019), by Nora Fingschseid. We will analyse the narrative construction in which girl characters find their own mode of cinematic enunciation. Following this direction, we will also focus our attention on cinematic storytelling (Lury, 2010; Lebeau, 2008; Buckland, 2021), in order to analyse the narrative discourse and we will use references from social science (James, 2007; Qvortrup, 2008; Malone, Tesar & Arndt, 2020) to understand whether the filmmakers bring a new perspective to the cultural representation of childhood.

Abstract. Understanding is the result of learning from what has been read or heard, and can provide other examples that have been explained by the teacher. In the learning process, every child has different abilities. So sometimes, there are children who are left behind (understanding) from their classmates. Sometimes children feel pressured (stressed) because they are left behind from their friends. There are many cases where children don't want to study anymore because they don't go to class. Because when he doesn't go to the next class, he will most likely feel different from his friends both in terms of greater physicality and from a less intelligent level (feeling stupid). This study uses a descriptive approach, where the research aims to describe a phenomenon. Based on this theory, the researcher intends to use this approach because it can make it easier for researchers to describe the application of Learning Strategies: Easy Memorizing Through Donkey bridges and Singing in Early Childhood at Tpq Al-Ikhlas Lebakbarang. All the stimuli obtained will be material for him to learn. When the donkey bridge learning strategy is applied, the child is still a little confused about applying this concept, it takes time to explain the concept of this learning strategy. While the technique of learning by singing children is easier to apply. When taught about the material with learning strategies to sing, children will immediately understand and start humming even though they have not memorized the lyrics. From the empowerment that the author did, it was concluded that the donkey bridge strategy and singing can optimize the teaching and learning process. However, specifically, the singing strategy is easier to implement in early childhood than the donkey bridge strategy.

Abstract. Some psychological constructs including personality traits and emotional intelligence could be vital in explaining a person's thoughts, actions, interpretations, judgements and behaviours. This study adopted correlational research design to establish the association of personality traits and emotional intelligence with risky sexual and health behaviours among adolescents in tertiary institutions in Enugu state. Four research questions guided the study. A total of 325 students in 300 and 400 levels from three selected higher institutions in Enugu state who accepted indulgence in risky sexual and health behaviours formed the sample of the study. Three sets of instruments namely: Costa & McCrae (1985) personality questionnaire (CMPQ), Emotional Intelligence Self Assessment instrument (EISAI) adapted from the work of Sterreth (2000) and United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (1999) Youth risky sexual behaviour test (YRSBT) were used for the study. Reliability of the instruments was established using Cronbach alpha and an internal coefficient of 0.76 was obtained for CMPQ, 0.78 for EISAI and finally 0.80 for YRSBT. The data were analyzed using correlation and regression statistical analysis. The results showed that both psychological constructs wheel tremendous influence on the adolescents, indulgence in risky sexual and health behaviours. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended that intervention programs aimed at building positive emotional skills in adolescents should be embarked upon and also control of drug intake and alcoholic drink consumption among adolescents' should be regulated by the university administration and government.

Abstract. The war in Ukraine has proved to be unlike any other armed conflict the world has seen before. In addition to the actual invasion and the bomb attacks, we have seen a real attack of false information, what we can call hybrid warfare. Like classic combat in theatres of operations, information warfare aims to destabilize society by bringing information with a strong emotional impact to the fore. And in the current media environment, social media has been the main vehicle for spreading false information, rumors, and deep fakes. This study analyses the main false information that has appeared in the public space about the war in Ukraine and how it has been taken up by media outlets.

Abstract. Led Zeppelin is considered one of the most influential rock bands in the history of music due to their sophisticated sound and seminal compositions. Their music prodigiously impacted the industry, blazing the trail for today's prominent artists. Throughout the years, their cultural legacy was fathomlessly analysed and assessed by a plethora of music pundits who focused their investigations on the musicians' educational and artistic background, early musical influences and creative mindset. Despite being notorious for their rock supremacy, many of their works are deeply rooted in African-American blues music. Nevertheless, despite Jimmy Page and Robert Plant's public enthusiasm for this genre due to their early involvement in the blues music scene, the band arguably premeditated to omit crediting blues artists whose black heritage significantly contributed to Led Zeppelin's awe-inspiring success. Consequently, they faced several resounding trials for unfairly exploiting many blues musicians' works in creating their own repertoire which led to serious cases of copyright infringement. During the course of this essay, I will outline the band's misappropriation of African-American blues culture in regard to their phenomenal rock establishment as a result of a Western white predominance in the music industry at the time.

Abstract. Task force training is a form of training carried out by the Abdimas Division in order to improve the skills of UKK KSR PMI Unit IAIN Pekalongan members. This training is devoted to young members who incidentally have never done a task force. Therefore, task force training is the first step or introduction for young members to be able to understand common cases that occur when carrying out a medical duty task force. In addition, the task force training also has another goal, namely to increase preparedness, confidence, and knowledge for members of UKK KSR PMI unit IAIN Pekalongan. This training was held on February 13, 2022, which took place in the building of the Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business, Pekalongan State Islamic Institute. The reason for holding this activity is that even during a pandemic, such as now, natural disasters or cases of medical emergencies still occur, for example the case of disaster emergency response flooding in Pekalongan City where refugees need medical emergency treatment. Therefore, it is very important to carry out this task force training even during a pandemic like now. The output or result of this activity is that members can understand the handling of medical cases that commonly occur during the task force, increase the confidence of members during the task force, introduce cases that commonly occur during the task force, and train the preparedness of the task force members, especially young members.

Abstract. Well known as an accomplished novelist, Julian Barnes had also a prodigious journalistic career which proved that he had the talent to adopt and adapt both ways of writing and reflecting reality. The peak of his media experience was the period of more than five years spent as the correspondent in Great Britain for the American magazine The New Yorker. The journalistic essays addressed to the public across the Atlantic were later gathered between the covers of a book called Letters from London, a collection of texts that reveal the fascinating way in which a literary writer observe and decode reality in order to explain it to a public that is rather unfamiliar with the actuality in a country far away.

Someone who has a brave nature will use his own way according to the circumstances of the atmosphere and time. A brave person, that is, if he does something after careful thought and his heart is determined that what he is doing will give results. Based on the above phenomenon, a person who has courage is a person who is in a condition and environment that requires him to dare to take strategic steps, fight for it seriously and also dare to take risks. One indication that shows this courageous nature can be photographed in the life of the fishing community in Api-api Village, Wonokerto District, Pekalongan Regency. Abstract. In this paper we aim at pointing out that intertextuality plays an important part in the advertising discourse, as the most common intertextual practices, such as quotation, allusion, cliché, parody, pastiche, are also the most frequent means of expressing intertextuality in advertising, commercials, advertising posters, etc. Moreover, an approach to advertising discourse that is capable of allowing us to identify intertextual references aims to distinguish the main discursive levels in a text, namely the syntactic, the semantic and the rhetorical levels.

Abstract. This study intends to describe the role of Edupreneur in Al-Ustmani Islamic Boarding School. The method used in this study uses a qualitative approach. In this study, researchers used exploratory and descriptive research forms. The setting of this research is the Al-Ustmani Islamic Boarding School. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique, namely the technique of determining sampling with certain considerations, based on considerations that the samples in this study were students, teachers, and the Al-Ustmani Islamic Boarding School foundation. The technique used for data collection and validity is source triangulation. The findings of this study state that edupreneurs at the Al-Ustmani Islamic Boarding School play an important role in the progress of the current world of education. Entrepreneurship or edupreneur education, such as that carried out by the Al-Ustmani Islamic Boarding School Foundation, is naturally required for all Islamic religious education institutions, so it is no longer only recommended as it is today. In the Edupreneurship of the Al-Ustmani Islamic Boarding School, the students must be invited to the field to see business objects directly. Before graduating, the students of the Al-Ustmani Islamic Boarding School must be required to practice entrepreneurship with capital from the institution, which capital must be returned after the students graduate from the Al-Uthmani Islamic Boarding School without interest. Entrepreneurship learning at the Al-Ustmani Islamic Boarding School is not all theoretical, but there is practice in laboratories and workshops to produce products, so that students and graduates have experience in producing products that can open up business opportunities. The Edupreneurship curriculum at Al-Ustmani Islamic Boarding School is designed to produce graduates who are able to think creatively in order to produce innovators who are able to create change and progress for the Indonesian nation.

Abstract. Mastery of science and technology is a must in facing the era of globalization. This requires various parties to be able to develop capabilities related to the development of capabilities in the field of technology. In the field of education, one of the educational breakthroughs in Indonesia that seeks to develop humans who can create a science and technology-based economy is STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) learning. This study aims to describe STEAM as an alternative to learning mathematics in MI/SD in the 21st century. This study uses a literature review method. The library study method is a critical study of the discussion of a topic that has been written by researchers or scientists in various sources in the form of books, journals, ebooks, or other scientific articles. The results of this study indicate that it is very important to use learning methods and media in the world of education to support teaching and learning activities, especially at the MI/SD level. STEAM is one of the methods that can be used in learning but it is undeniable that this method cannot be applied in all madrasah/school circles. Madrasas/schools that have been able to use this method are those that are well-coordinated. Therefore, we really hope that this STEAM method can be implemented in all madrasah/school circles which also indicates that our education is developing to be better every day.

Abstract. The study investigated on academic achievement of secondary school computer studies students taught using reinforcement and those taught without reinforcement. The study was carried out in Nnewi North Local Government Area (NNLGA) of Anambra State, Nigeria. The study adopted pre-test post-test non-equivalent control group design. Two research questions and two null hypotheses guided the study. The study comprised of all senior secondary school II (SS2) students from Nnewi North Local Government Area (NNLGA) of Anambra State, numbering one thousand two hundred and ten (1,210). The sample size of the study was one hundred and thirty nine (139) computer studies students. Purposive sampling technique was used to select only two (2) public secondary schools out of eight (8) offering computer studies in external examination in NNLGA of Anambra State. The researchers made use of intact classes from the two groups. The validated instrument tagged "Computer Operations Achievement Test" (COPAT) was used for the data collection. Kuder Richardson Formula 20 (KR) reliability coefficient of 0.72 was established. Data collected were analyzed using mean, standard deviation and ANCOVA at 0.05 level of significance. The findings from the study revealed that reinforcement in form of praise, encouragement, motivation and hope was used as reinforcement strategy in classroom teaching. This made students taught computer operations as a topic in computer studies using reinforcement strategy (RS) performed significantly higher than the students taught computer operations as a topic in computer studies without using reinforcement strategy (RS). The study further revealed that there is no gender effect on computer studies students taught computer operation using RS. Based on the findings, the researchers recommended among others that teacher at all levels should adopt the use of reinforcement in instructional process since it helps to improve academic achievement of students in computer studies in both internal and external examination.

Abstract. The full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia in February 2022 precipitated a significant shift in news consumption patterns, with the messaging application Telegram emerging as a dominant platform for information dissemination. This paper synthesizes existing research to analyze the factors driving this migration, situating Telegram's rise within the theoretical frameworks of networked gatekeeping and the hybrid media system. We examine how Telegram's specific affordances notably its speed, broadcast capabilities, minimal content moderation, and perceived security - catered to the urgent informational needs of audiences and communicators during the initial phase of the conflict. The analysis highlights the platform's role in amplifying diverse voices, including citizen journalists and official sources, while also facilitating the rapid spread of unverified information (Herasimenka et al., 2022). Furthermore, we explore the complex interplay between Telegram and traditional media, discussing the implications for journalistic practices, credibility, and the evolving nature of conflict reporting in the digital age based on early observations and established theories. The paper identifies patterns in platform adoption during crises and contradictions regarding trust and verification.
